The Apehands comes to life thanks to the passion of two friends who want to bring back the spirit of the cartoons of before — building stories, characters and so much more for the next generation of little dreamers.
Four characters, one family. The Handersons were born to become part of every family's life. Each one sees the world in their own way, with their own stories and their own voice — growing through animation, videos, and the walls and hands of everyone who makes them their own. You won't collect them. You'll love them.
Currently made up of two people: Grumpysmurf, general director and community lead, and Pizza, in charge of the project's creative and narrative content. Both are co-founders of The Apehands.
From day one we've been clear about our values: creativity, learning and effort. These are the values we want to pass on to the new generations.
A family born to be part of every family.
It all started with a simple idea: what if a family could tell stories that other families would want to live?
That's how the Handersons were born. Four characters, four personalities, one home.
Dad Handerson, fun-loving and adventurous, always chasing the next unforgettable experience. Mum Handerson, the calm heart that holds the family together with warmth and care. Banjo Handerson, the curious kid who turns any day into an adventure. And Kira Handerson, the thoughtful little one who brings balance to her brother's chaos.
They're not perfect. They mess up, they laugh, they get into trouble and they forgive each other fast — just like in any real home. That's exactly why they exist: so that any kid, in any home, can see themselves reflected in them.
Today the Handersons are stepping out of where they were born and into families' everyday lives: in cartoons you can watch together after dinner, in videos that fill the afternoons, in wallpapers that dress up a screen, in colouring pages that end up stuck to the fridge.
We didn't build them to be collected. We built them to be loved.
Because in the end, that's the goal: for the Handersons to stop being characters and become part of the family.
